THE SOLO CONNECTION is a futuristic sci-fi thriller about a young woman called Solo Niece. She is an undercover courier working for the European government in the 23rd century.
Hitching a ride with an air force transport she heads back home to Scanditown for some time off and to see her father, a renowned professor of chemistry.
She and her dad have been estranged for many years. She took off to make it in the world and he was always busy.
With the passing of time though, wounds have been healed and the reunion is longed for.
However, in the weeks before she arrives he disappears from the face of the earth. No contact, no messages.
Silence.
Before her vacation officially starts she has one last delivery to make. A batch of drugs samples for the government laboratory in Scanditown.
Work is on to develop a legal substance, kind of a people’s drug, the obvious reason being to combat the destructive and widespread effects of illegal drug abuse.
The official stance is, if you can’t beat them, join them, and beat them that way.
On that rainy night, heading from the airport, the high-speed autocab she’s travelling in gets attacked by another vehicle. Automatic fire, short-range rockets, that kind of thing.
Solo and her fellow-passengers manage to fight back and destroy the mysterious vehicle, but the steel briefcase containing the classified samples is shot to pieces.
This is the beginning of a series of events that lead Solo to suspect her own father is somehow involved. Someone is after her and after the samples. She no longer has them, but her pursuers, whoever they are, don’t know that.
What is the connection between her father’s disappearance and the deadly attraction she and her mission have suddenly gained?
